the Pussycat Dolls' host is the new face of CoverGirl.
“Are you serious?”
Roberts coyly asks.
Yes we are. SheKnows does not joke about such things!
Ashley and her Pussycat Dolls mates are getting ready to hit Ellen’s
big stage as their album Doll Domination is released on the world’s biggest
stage, from iTunes to the corner CD store.
Anxious for her Ellen performance, Ashley reports not having any nerves
except utter excitement for the arrival of Doll Domination September 23. You
see, they've been ready for a while. The Pussycat Dolls have had a hit with
When I Grow Up since June.
The Phoenix native is the picture of calm prior to
performing in front of millions of people courtesy of Ellen DeGeneres and
her daytime show. Ashley is a consummate professional, six months after high
school graduation, a move to Los Angeles produced the position she currently
holds.

SheKnows: Hello, this is Joel from SheKnows.com.
Ashley: Hi Joel, this is Ashley from the Pussycat Dolls.
SheKnows: Well hi there Ashley from the Pussycat Dolls, how are you today?
Ashley: I’m good, how are you?
SheKnows: I’m doing great, wow it’s great to speak with you today thank
you so much.
Ashley: You are so
welcome.
SheKnows: The first single, When I Grow Up, arrived
back in early summer, how’s it feel to finally have the record, Doll
Domination, out in the public’s hands? Are you guys ready to dominate, so to
speak?
Ashley: (laughs) I definitely think we’re ready. We’ve had a long
break and since the fans have been waiting for it, we’re excited to get it
to them.
SheKnows: That’s what struck me, you mentioned it being a long time, we
actually spoke at the MTV Movie Awards in June. Doesn’t that seem like years
ago?
Ashley: Yeah, when When I Grow Up first came out! You did! I remember.

SheKnows: That
was in June. Has there been a lot of anticipation at your end to get the
entire record out there?
Ashley: Yeah, most definitely. There’s a lot of expectation you know.
We’ve got some amazing songs. We got to work with a lot of amazing producers.
We’re so excited to have new material. I hope the fans like it as much as
they love PCD.
SheKnows: And
that’s the thing, you guys went into record the first one not many people
knew who you were. You came out of no where and shocked the world. Is it any
different when you went into the studio to record Doll Domination knowing
that you’ve got a fan base that is just huge?
Ashley: Yes it was. Now that we have a fan base and we kind of knew
what the sound was, it was an easier process this time to get all the songs
recorded, actually.
SheKnows: Really…
Ashley: Yeah, so this album has a lot of different styles in it.
There’s more of a variety, I think. We’ve got some ballads that show a
little more vulnerable side to the Dolls. Could you hold on one second?
Ashley puts her phone down to go
over some details for the Ellen show.
Ashley: I’m sorry there’s a lot going on right now. We’re getting
ready to go on Ellen today.
SheKnows: Oh
my goodness.
Ashley: Yeah, right. We’re in the dressing room getting ready for
Ellen's show.
Do you think I'm
sexy?
SheKnows: Well,
alright. Have you met Ellen before?
Ashley: Oh my gosh, we’ve met a couple times. She’s the best (laughs).
SheKnows: How cool is that that’s
she’s the new face of CoverGirl?
Ashley: Is she?
SheKnows: Yeah, they just announced
it.
Ashley: Shut up!
SheKnows: I know! Please tell Ellen
congratulations from SheKnows.
Ashley: That is so awesome. That’s great. I can’t wait to see her!

Stairway to heaven
SheKnows: I wanted to ask about the
next single. You’ve had your fair share of superstar guest artists including
Snoop Dogg, what was it like pairing with Missy Elliot?
Ashley: It was honestly a dream come true. I think Missy’s the
ultimate Pussycat Doll. She’s all fire. She’s confident in who she is and is
always doing her thing. She’s always at the top of her game. I think it’s
the perfect match. She’s really down to earth and cool.
SheKnows: I think it’s a match made
in heaven.
Ashley: Totally!
SheKnows: I wanted to ask you lastly,
there’s such a physical demand on you because your live show is so physical,
with the dancing and the singing. When you have down time in between albums,
does your personal regimen change?
Ashley: Each of us had some time to our selves to figure out what we
want to do as individuals and branch out. I got to do a small role in a
movie and that’s what I want to do after the Dolls is do romantic comedies.
I think that was kind my shift that I did on our down time. I focused on
acting and classes. It was a lot of fun, but I was looking forward to
getting back into Doll-land. I love the stage and I love performing. I’m
excited to get back with them and get out there.
SheKnows: One
last question, is there a personal favorite of yours on Doll Domination?
Ashley: My personal favorite changes day to day depending on what
mood I’m in. Right now, I love Magic. It’s a song that Timbaland did.
SheKnows: Oooh…
Ashley: Yeah, totally. It’s one of my favorites. To have Timbaland,
it can’t get any better.
